Duties and Responsibilities: Family practice doctors are generalists who see patients with a wide variety of conditions. Patients often see family practice doctors on a long-term basis for routine checkups and to receive initial evaluations of conditions before being referred to specialists.

Salary: $184,630 average salary

Education: All premedical students must take courses in physics, chemistry, organic chemistry and biology as undergraduates. While a bachelor's degree is not an absolute requirement to gain admission to medical school, it is highly recommended.
